LEADING THE INDUSTRY SINCE 1960

Analysts, Inc. is internationally recognized as a pioneer in the field of oil and fluids analysis. Founded in 1960 by Edward Forgeron, the company's only business is to help equipment users manage and control the maintenance of machinery through oil and fluids analysis. After five decades, we continue to lead the industry by developing new services and resources for predictive maintenance. To date, our organization has innovated and introduced several facets of analytical services that are now widely accepted practices.A HISTORY OF INNOVATION
  • Analysts, Inc. was the first commercial laboratory to provide complete test packages tailored specifically to the operations of the equipment being sampled. Additionally, Analysts was the first laboratory to diagnose machinery conditions and provide specific maintenance recommendations to correct problems identified through analytical laboratory testing and analysis.

  • Analysts is the only oil analysis laboratory to develop and hold patents in testing instrumentation as well as sampling accessories. The company has been issued patents on: the Bellows® sample container, an automatic viscosity system, and most recently on the state-of-the-art fuel soot measurement instrument, LEM®.

  • The company developed and refined the concept of private label marketing. Through this effort, analytical laboratory services are now provided by oil companies, equipment manufacturers, filter suppliers, and other sources via independent, third-party lab experts.

  • During the 1960's Analysts worked closely with the Federal Government and specifically with the Department of the Navy and the U.S. Coast Guard to develop and provide the lab services for successful predictive maintenance programs through lube oil analysis. These programs were eventually moved in-house to self-operated shipboard and in-field laboratories and are one of the cornerstones of the armed services maintenance programs. Annually, these programs save taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars.

  • Analysts was the first oil analysis laboratory to computerize its production operations through a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), the first lab with customer desk top computer software for managing programs, and is a leader in delivering oil analysis information via the Internet.
