Particle Counting for Clean Hydraulics

Analysts, Inc. prides itself on providing the latest, most comprehensive fluid contamination monitoring programs in the industry. Our lab analysis and reporting procedures have all been refined in accordance with the newly expanded ISO and NAS requirements. To preserve the widest possible range of service, we still provide particle counts based on older standards. This service is available to customers with special needs for legacy testing. Regardless of your needs, you can be sure that Analysts’ critical fluid analysis program has the tools and experience to thoroughly test and document virtually any condition for full contamination control.

The industry’s finest evaluations. Analysts includes particle count measurements and evaluations for 6 different micron ranges, including particulates sized at or below 4µm. Filter manufacturers, OEMs, and industry customers are recognizing the vital importance of particle measurements in this smaller range. We refer to this 6-range reporting as ISO-3. Analyzing fluid samples for the most minute contaminants provides customers with a third ISO Cleanliness Code instead of the older 2-code reporting. The importance of this information cannot be underestimated, since particles smaller than 4µm can accumulate as silt within systems. When contamination particles are this fine, they can clog and erode close-tolerance high-pressure components, leading to rapid fluid degradation and eventual control valve seizures.

Meeting the industry’s highest standards. Our full service particle-count analysis is essential for turbine and hydraulic systems that require strict levels of fluid cleanliness. This meticulous level of data generation on fluid cleanliness and system conditions also meets the stringent standards required to monitor sophisticated equipment from OEMs such as General Electric, Bosch, Parker, Westinghouse and other discriminating manufacturers. Bottom line? If you operate close-tolerance systems that are critical in any production, power generation, or process control environment, then your predictive maintenance program will clearly benefit from Analysts' ISO-3 particle count analysis.
Analysts' PC analysis is particularly applicable for:
  • Factory production machinery, including robotics
  • Gas and steam turbines
  • Bench test equipment
  • Steering systems, winches, lift controls
  • Hydrostatic transmissions in sophisticated off-highway construction
    and mining equipment.
